74% of the quay wall development project in Thinadhoo island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll, has been completed, says Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
The company took to Twitter on Thursday, revealing the latest updates of the development project near the Ice Plant area of the island. Hollis Hydraulic Breaker
MTCC revealed that the project is near completion and that the concrete work of the project began in mid-April this year.
Under the scope of the project, the company is tasked with 9,245 cubic meters of backfilling, the construction of a 10-meter revetment as well as a sheet pile quay wall measuring 130 meters.
In addition, MTCC is also tasked with constructing a paved area measuring 620 square meters and the installation of street lights.
The sheet pile installation work for the project involves using an excavator mounted with a vibratory hammer for driving sheet piles into the underground structure, said MTCC.
The company expects to complete the project by the end of the ongoing month.
MTCC was contracted the project on July 31, 2019 and it is worth MVR 17.4 million.
The project was mobilized on March 4, 2020.
